5 FACTS ABOUT GOKU AND DRAGON BALL SUPER

is a main character in the classic Chinese proverb, "Journey to the West." Fans can learn more about Goku when
episode three of "Dragon Ball Super" premieres on Sunday, July 19.
Here are five things you didn't know about "Dragon Ball Super" star Goku:

1. Goku is based on a character named "Son Wukong" from an ancient Chinese proverb called "Journey to the West"
Son Wukong was a humanoid monkey with a variety of supernatural powers, including super strength, shapeshifting and the ability to part water. Additionally, he is an extraordinarily skilled combatant, capable of fighting against gods and demons. Like Goku, he accompanies a group of friends to gather mystical artifacts and he has a tail.
